There is truly nothing like a live musical performance. No matter your favorite style or your favorite band, seeing and experiencing it live and in person is a wonderful experience. The audience’s energy feeds the musicians on stage who send it back in an infinitely rebounding wave.
Recently, many people across the country have felt enormous uncertainty about the future of the arts. As a small orchestra in a rural community on the Oregon coast, we are sensitive to the fears that have gripped some folks in our field. Sometimes the fear is about funding, whether we will still qualify for grants and financial support from foundations that use federal dollars. Sometimes the fear is about acceptance, whether a person can feel safe and welcome on our stage or in our audience.
We want you to know, the Newport Symphony is committed to being an orchestra for everyone.
