Enjoy an evening of lively music with wit, high energy, and global music. The Portland based group will light up PAC’s stage as they perform unique and eclectic style of chamber music based on tango, Klezmer, Latin and Gypsy music. A select group of NSO musicians will join the stage to conclude a memorable start to the 4th of July weekend.

For over 15 years, this group of highly skilled musicians who call themselves 3 Leg Torso has excited audiences with their high energy eclectic global sounds. Drawing on a variety of styles from Gypsy, tango, kletzmer and chamber music, the music is sure to create lasting memories and a good time.
This group will thrill its audience with joyful international music, wit, and a wide range of traditions from gypsy, tango, kletzmer and even chamber music. Though uncommonly named, 3 Leg Torso, is credited with several movie scores and has travelled throughout the United Stated and abroad during the more than 15 years the group has performed.

Morgan Spurlock, director of the film “SuperSize Me,” said, “3 Leg Torso makes the greatest music you could ever put in a movie.” Select NSO musicians will join in, under the baton of Adam Flatt, to complete the evening. With strong, joyful musicality, NSO’s guest artists, 3 Leg Torso, will start your holiday in good form while NSO will continue the feeling.

Join in the Coast’s largest live music event of the year !

Newport Symphony Orchestra on the central Oregon coast invites visitors and the community to celebrate the 4th of July with its annual community concert. Featuring the 60 piece orchestra under the baton of Adam Flatt, this event has become the largest single live music venue any time of year on the Oregon Coast. Selections include patriotic marches, popular show tunes, light classics, and a tribute to all members past and present of the armed forces.

The 4th of July concert opens its doors at 3 pm with the performance beginning at 4 pm. Thanks to our sponsors, it is held without charge at the Newport Intermediate School. Very casual and festive red, white and blue attire encouraged!

NSO Goes to the Movies: The Sequel

Edmund Stone narrates movie music. Adam Flatt conducts the Newport Symphony Orchestra. The PAC’s state-of-the-art sound awaits you for this thrilling performance on July 5.

This promises to be as thrilling as last year’s trip to Hollywood. You can experience the excitement of big movie music from your seat in Newport’s Performing Arts Center with its state of the art sound, the full 60-piece symphony under the baton of Adam Flatt, and the wit and wisdom of Edmund Stone who will guide us through the program.

Ride with the Valykries, return to Jurassic Park, enter the contest ring of the Gladiator, and much more.
Edmund Stone is widely known for his expertise and humor on movie soundtracks. His weekly radio program, The Score®, is featured on All Classical Portland which broadcasts in our area and worldwide through web streaming.
