2017 Summer Music Daycamp – Canceled

With regret, the NSO has canceled its 2017 Summer Music camp due to lower than expected enrollment. Those who have already signed up will be directly contacted and arrangements made for refunds.

Students are welcome to sign up with the Newport Youth Symphony which will begin in the fall. For questions, contact the NSO Office at 541-574-0614.

The Newport Symphony Orchestra is the only year-round, professional symphony orchestra on the Oregon coast. Home base for the orchestra is the 400-seat Newport Performing Arts Center, just a few steps away from the gorgeous Oregon seashore in historic Nye Beach.

Adam Flatt is the Music Director and Conductor of the NSO, and popular actor and narrator David Ogden Stiers is our Resident Conductor.

The NSO began in 1988 as the Yaquina Chamber Orchestra, later shortened to the Yaquina Orchestra. The name Newport Symphony Orchestra was adopted in 2004.

The NSO performs a popular series of concerts in the Newport PAC in a September through May regular season, and special events in the summer months including its hugely popular annual free community concert on July 4.
